The Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock (MHA) will be CLOSING its Public Housing waitlists on August 23, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. This includes waitlists for the following properties:
- Madison Heights (1401 Madison, Little Rock, AR 72204)
- Legacy Senior Homes (100 Hayes Dr. Little Rock, AR 72206)
- Homes at Granite Mountain (100 Hayes Dr. Little Rock, AR 72206)
This does NOT impact waitlists for other MHA properties or for the Housing Choice Voucher/Section 8 waitlist.
Why is MHA Purging the Public Housing Waitlists?
There are currently approximately 7,000 applicants on the waitlist for these Public Housing sites with many initial application dates exceeding three years; the Public Housing waitlist was last purged in 2017. This means that the current Public Housing waitlists contain outdated and inaccurate applicant information, making the process of reviewing applications and placing applicants in Public Housing take longer than it would if the data contained in the waitlists was current and accurate. Purging the waitlists will allow MHA to place applicants in Public Housing more efficiently and quickly.
When Will this Take Place?
Waitlists for the Public Housing properties listed above will purge on August 30, 2024.
